Scientific Notation
a × 10ⁿ where 1 ≤ a < 10
Exponent
Positive = large number, Negative = small number
Theory
**Format:** a × 10ⁿ (1 ≤ a < 10)
**Large numbers:** Move decimal left, positive exponent
- 5,400,000 = 5.4 × 10⁶
**Small numbers:** Move decimal right, negative exponent
- 0.00032 = 3.2 × 10⁻⁴
**Multiplying:** Multiply coefficients, add exponents
**Dividing:** Divide coefficients, subtract exponents

(3 × 10⁴) × (2 × 10³)
Solution: 6 × 10⁷
