Frequently Asked Questions

Test Difficulty & Calibration

Are these tests as difficult as real employer assessments?

Yes. Our practice tests mirror the structure and difficulty of professional psychometric exams used in recruitment. We calibrate questions based on published guidelines and feedback from actual test‑takers.

Do the tests become harder as I progress?

Many of our tests use adaptive difficulty or progressive question pools. As you answer correctly, you’ll encounter more challenging items to keep you engaged and growing.

How is the time limit set for each test?

Time limits are benchmarked against industry standards and adjusted for practice mode. They reflect the pace expected in real assessments while allowing sufficient time to learn.

Are there easier versions for beginners?

Yes. Some tests offer shorter or less complex practice sessions. You can start with a smaller number of questions or shorter puzzles to build confidence before attempting full‑length assessments.

Can I choose my own difficulty level?

For certain tests you can select how many questions or which size puzzles to attempt. This gives you control over the challenge level, especially when practising specific skills.

Test Validity & Real‑Exam Match

How close are your practice formats to real assessments?

We design our practice tests around common assessment layouts, timing patterns, and publicly described exam structures where available. They are independent preparation materials, not official or identical copies of third-party assessments.

How do you ensure the results reflect my ability?

We track your accuracy and speed across multiple attempts and normalise scores where appropriate. This provides a reliable indication of your current level and how you’re improving over time.

Are your scoring algorithms comparable to employer tests?

Our scoring is based on established psychometric principles. For most tests, your score reflects the proportion of correct answers, while some (like Switch) use points per second to factor in speed.

Do you provide normative scores or pass thresholds?

Because official benchmarks vary by employer, we provide your percentage correct and contextual feedback rather than pass/fail thresholds. Use your progress trend to gauge readiness.

Is there research supporting your test designs?

Yes. Our tests draw on decades of psychometric research and align with widely used frameworks in occupational assessment. We continuously refine our questions based on new insights and user data.
